Seem to remember reading somewhere that your bike fitness will complement your running fitness but not the other way round. Though don't take my word for it, because I may be wrong. Obviously there will be some aerobic crossover from general fitness

In my experience biking does help your running a great deal even if you don't do much running. LAst time i did 1500m was summer of last year and got 5 mins flat for it. Since then i have not done much running apart from an odd crosscountry race. Apart from that it's all been cycling (and alot of it). Then last week i did the 1500m again and ran a 4 44, so there's been a major improvement thanks to cycling although it's still better to run in training if you want to maximise the benefits.
