Returning to training

I had a cold that has relapsed, basically because i tried to train to early

tried to do a run last night and my Hr was through the roof during the warm up so i stopped after a few min, as to not get ill again.

was wondering when the best time to return to training was and what i should be looking for in terms of signs of recovery and sessions to do to get back into training

peace

Make a note of your HR,each morning, how near is it to your resting HR,within a couple of beats or more than five.
There is an app for I phone,I pod touch called ithlete, that measures HRV,which shows a trend and advises about the intensity of training, slightly expensive but has received some good reviews.

One rule of thumb,is if you have been ill, don't train the first day you feel better, leave it for a couple of days, and then only at a low intensity.

But since I don't have a medical qualification, all advice to be taken with the proverbial pinch of salt.
