Is STP2 as effective as we think??

all that's left on the 'todays post' list is SPAM or 'STP2'.
SO FRUSTRATING.
I know it bumps the spam to page 2 and if you put stp2 in an interesting thread ,it gets back in the running. But opening a thread to see the same message/statement over and over ...?
What do you all think,is it effective or not??
