In the article he mentions triathlon as a sport he 'dabbled in' 15 years ago.
Wasn't that 'dabbled in' as in number 1 ranked junior triathlete, and winner of the national sprint champs two years running.
Nice to see that when Lance just gives it a bit of a go he ends up national champion. I'd love to see him taking on the Olympic distance, though he's probably more physically suited to IM after all those years on the bike.
He would certainly making it interesting. What would happen to Sinballe and Staddler if they are no longer the top dogs on the bike? How would Macca and Crowie fair trying to chase down a TDF winner on the Marathon. It would be freakin awesome for the sport as whole IMHO.
Mr. Armstrongs only one in the world TT-bike has been stolen. They broke in in the truck and stole the damn thing. Rewards are being given for finding the utterly pimped rocket.
Hopefully the thief just wants to hang it on the wall of his living room, cause riding a special Trek Equinox 9.9 that is unique, would cause some suspision I Think!
(BTW: they should be looking for the red version, cause obviously the thiefwill have it repainted in pink(if he's a novice) or RED!!!!!). [:D]
As a retired professional cyclist I find it interesting to read other peoples views of Lance, good and bad I want to have my say on a few points that have been rasied.
Firstly charisma, Lance has plenty of this. He is great person to know and will do anything to help others in the professional world cycling. When you have dragged your body and bike over six mountain climbs in a day, in tempertures over 100 degrees, your legs on fire, your lungs about to explode the last thing you need at the finish line is the press in your face giving you a hard time. People should not be so quick to judge someone they have never meet, but only read about or see on television, that is not the real Lance Armstrong. Armstrong is far from boring Jon.
Money, this helps little but without natural ability and talent you can throw as much money as you want at an cyclist, but without this natural ability they will never be a professional rider.
Doping, it happens it will always happen as long as there is money in sport there will always be drugs, and that's every sport. But it is the cycling world that is being the most proactive about. As for Lance he is clean, as far as I am concerned if you are using drugs this should be a life time ban, career over, period.
Lance is not returning to cycling because he needs too, he is raising the profile for all the good that his foundation does for people suffering from cancer, or dying from cancer, this is the legecy that he would like to be remember for the most not the tour rides, but the press only highlights his rides. The foundation is an amazing charity helping millions of people over the world with cancer and we should not lose sight of all this hard work that Lance does.
Living Legend............probably not, for me the great riders are Eddy Merchx, Jacques Anquetil, Fastio Coppi, and Raymond Poulidor these are legends of the cycling world.

Hopefully he can start and finish the Giro.
Don't think the crash will have lots of effect on the TDF though!?
