Race Calendar Help Needed!

Hi guys. I've been doing Triathlon for a number of years now but mainly stick to Tri's during the summer. I'm doing Ironman 70.3 in June and so I want to get a sprint and olympic distance race in before hand. Can anyone recommend two good races I could do in March, April or May? I'd really really prefer to do Open Water races.

    Hi Tom,

    It depends on where you're based and how far you're willing to travel, but the Beaver events are always popular, as well as the Slateman sprint, although I think you'll have to be quick to get a spot for the latter!

    Thanks Jamie. My parents live on the Wirral, so North Wales is actually pretty easy for me to get too for Slateman. Do you know of any Olympic distance races in March or April that are open water? I can't seem to find any. I'm pretty flexible on location to be honest.

    Hi Tom

    You can't find any open water races that early because of the weather conditions - too cold for open water races.  Most races in April will be Duathlons or swimming pool based sprint races.

    Oh and the Slateman I believe is full already!

    Ive entered the slateman full on Sunday 18th May, that is now full but the slateman sprint on Saturday 17th May have a few places left. First time at this event for me so I cant comment on organistion etc.
