Tri bar rules

Does anyone know the tri/aero bar rules for extensions?

I read somewhere about the distance protruding from the levers, but cannot find the information anymore.

The rule you mention only applies to races run under ITU riles, under BT rules any aerobatic extensions are allowed

my recollection (and it may have changed) is that ITU rules (for drafting/bunch raced triathlons) require extensions to not project past the end of the levers, and be fully enclosed (both bars connected at the end).

most tri's in this country are non-drafting, and BTF rules don't have the requirements above, although if you race in a bunch/drafting then you are likely to need to conform to them. the organisers would make this pretty clear, though, i would think.

Make sure any Tri bars you use have plugs in the end!
