The weather played a major part on what is a very easy course. Non wetsuit swim, temperatures above 100. I have never seen or heard of so many ambulances at a triathlon before. Unfortunately someone has died due to the heat and rumours of others still in intensive care. What climbing there was was made difficult because of dehydration. Overall it was the weather that you competed against and not the course.

    Agree with Les. It was very hot and I wonder if there was enough water/refreshment on the bike. I overheated and dehydrated and had to pull out. I heard there was a high number of DNFs, more so than usual, mainly due to the heat. All credit to every finisher to sticking with it.

    While the overall organisation was good, I felt there was a lot of inefficiency and lack of knowledge and organisation at a local level.
