Shame that the study is completely uncontrolled and therefore is worth little more than the paper that it is printed on. Its a shame because with little to no extra effort a basic controlled study with half the athletes not using the i10 (even without a placebo control this would have been better) then we could have got a much better idea of the benefits of this product. Ideally a placebo controlled study would be the dream, which shouldn't really be very hard, you just have to make a rig which looks like the i10 but lets air circulate into it freely without the participant noticing.
As you say if the subjects have been following an optimised training regime containing maximal efforts etc you would be likely to expect some performance gain and without the control there is no way of knowing whether the study shows statistically significant results.
