Talkback: Helvellyn Triathlon 2015 – in pics

This race had been on my bucket list for a while and it didn't disappoint. Brutal and amazing in equal measures. Fantastically organised and great support along the way from the marshals, local community and friendly competitors. Without a doubt the best end to a season I've ever had...and I'm glad it is the end given my quads still hurt now five days later.

Two years ago I inadvertently found myself cheering people on in this race and thinking "I'd love to be able to do that", feeling nothing but awe for those who were doing it. Actually completing it this year was a dream come true. Hardest race I've done, but absolutely amazing. Apart from the struggle, the bike was heaven. The swim was gorgeous. The "run" was horrendous, but not being a fan of heights, getting up Swirrel edge was a fantastic feeling. Amazing marshalling, they had a long day out there and never stopped encouraging us. Best race ever!
