Talkback: Tri Q+A: Should you race with a cold?
For years I refrained from training or racing when I had a heavy cold. Nowadays I ignore the symptoms and go for it. I figure that you'll find out soon enough if you're up for it. Usually with a bad cold, you can feel a bit uncomfortable, specially with hard breathing, but you may only get a slight drop in performance. One question I ask myself is: would I go to work? If the answer is yes, then I go training/racing too.
