I'm sure Nicola Spirig won the respect and hearts of a LOT of people yesterday. She was the only one to put in 100% effort and worked tirelessly to try and win this race. Unimpressed with the tactics of the stronger bikers, especially Duffy, Hewitt and Stanford, they didn't deserve to place and just baffled as to why they just let Gwen get carried along with the flow as usual on the bike. Spirig is a hero in my eyes, especially coming from the set-back of her broken wrist in Abu Dhabi, she was brilliant.
