Talkback: Blackcurrant found to boost performance

From what can be gleaned from the terrible chart: 13 subjects 3 of which showed a decrease in performance? Hard to believe there is any statistical significance in the results give how small the sample size was. What was the nature of the subjects as it has been shown time & again that research on untrained people does not necessarily translate to trained athletes. Beetroot juice/nitrate supplementation being a great example. Only one study showed performance improvements through beetroot juice supplementation, numerous studies showed nothing and some even showed a decrease in performance in trained athletes. How did this short term study conclude that chronic supplementation was required? #badscience
