Birmingham will be hosting the UK's first ever Double IM Triathlon. The Double Iron UK 2008 will be held on 2nd & 3rd of August 2008. The race will be in its original format of 4.8 mile swim (pool based to follow Deca format), 224 mile bike & 52 mile run.
As promised, I am opening up the entries for people who have contacted me personally or those on this forum before I post the entries live. The website will go live tomorrow evening at midnight and can be found at [color=#800080]www.doubleironuk.com.[/color] The general public (and abroad) will be able to enter online at this time.
Entry fees for individuals will be £200 and relay teams of 3, £100 per team member. The maximum amount of athletes allowed to compete is 20 but we are applying to the International Ultra Triathlon Association to extend our licence to 32 athletes.
Competitors will be asked to provide a medical letter from their doctor stating that have good health.

The bike & run courses still need to be conformed. They will however, be short out and back laps from Cheslyn Hay, or longer laps where athletes will be accompanied by their own support vehicles".
