Talkback: Should race organisers provide refunds for cancelled races?

I was one of the lucky ones this year and completed IMNZ just before the door slammed shut. I have however been impacted by other events being cancelled this year and it's the accommodation/travel that's a bigger financial hit for me.
I'm sure the fact the cause of all this disruption was China and the owners of Ironman are also now Chinese has not escaped everyones attention. For that reason alone, I feel full refunds should be offered or at the very least a 2nd free entry to go with the free rebooking.
