Race Day saddle bag

Hi all

I've done a handful of tri's now and have had some spares in my saddle bag during the race. However I want to know is it worth having this on me? I compete in mainly sprint and OD. I don't know whether to stick with it or ditch this extra weight.

Thoughts?

depends what's in there. I always have a spare tub (inner tube and levers if running clinchers) C02 pump and canister (x3) and a multi tool.

I guess the question is, if you get a flat are you going to want that to end you day? If you have a saddle drop a few cms, are you going to want to pull over and raise it again (I've had this happen) or just put up with it slipping and sliding (and possibly twisting) for the rest of the bike leg?

Besides, how much does that all weigh really?

The day you don't take it,is the time you most need it.
It weighs little, doesn't affect your aerodynamics, and could be the difference between a dns/dnf or a finish.
