In sport we often refer to people in their 'rookie' year. I have a lad in the world superbike championship this year, he is in his 'rookie' year in the championship but clearly is no novice or beginner.
good point i hadnt considered that. i do quite like the word rookie but beginner or whatever is a bit pansy... [:D] though obviously everyone starts somewhere. mmm. this had me thinking on my swim this morn, so much so that mid thought i forgot to take a breath... whats all the rubbish about women being able to multi-task?!?!?!
