Change in safety standards

Has everyone seen the article about the change in bike safety standards, with all bikes sold from January 2009 having to conform to the European CEN standards?



Anyhow I was just wondering if any of you guys had anymore info on it, more specifically is there any makes of bike that do not conform to these new standards and therefore will be up for sale at reduced prices come december?

    I expect most bikes will meet the standard, but current models will not have been tested against the standard and stamped with the appropriate mark at manufacture. So hopefully there will be lots of good deals available at the end of the year.
