What bike please?

Hello I need to buy a new road bike, but I don't know if I should go for a 500 pound bike or a 800 pound bike. Is there that much difference or should I just loose a few pounds.



I have narrowed it down to a couple of bikes, the Specialized Allez range and the Giant range. Does anyone have any preferences on either bike range?

    I really think this is personal preference as there probably isn't a lot of difference. I have 3 Giant's and am very happy with them, my wife has 2 Specialized's and she is happy with them. The SCR range from Giant always get a good write up.

    My first 'proper' bike was a Giant SCR2, the bike shop suggested a cheaper SCR3 which in some ways would have been better as I have recently got a tri specific bike, but there again may have gone for an upgrade to SCR2 and then tri and cost me more ... if you see what I mean ... it's late.



    Yep Specialized and Giant are seen in plenty cos they do the job
