First bike...too many choices!

Hi guys,

Many of you probably fed up with new comers worrying about bike choices, but I'm seeking some advice.

Don't really want to go much over £500. I've seen the Giant scr2, raleigh airlite 300 (2007 model), and dawes 500.

Which is the best? Should i avoid any?

From reading other threads and talking in shops, think i want tiagra shifters (think in time i'll regret getting sora)

Also I'm 6'5 so think i need a pretty big frame, but not sure what size.

I dont know about the bikes but i do "know" that different makers vary slightly and therefore nothing replaces sitting on the bike and maybe having a spin if they let you. The people at the bike shop should have a rough idea on th size but ( big guess) your goin to be over 60cm i think.

if the bike shop will not allow a test ride, buy somewhere else, trust your butt, it will know.
