Hi all,
Hope someone can help me.....I injured my medial collateral ligament on my knee skiing a few years ago, no surgery required but ligament a bit thickened. Now for some reason knee pain back and stopping me running/cycling, any advice? i'm only 9st so its not an o/w issue.

The second obvious thing is to rest it.
Does it hurt all the time, or just with certain motions, load bearing etc.
Is there any visible swelling?
If you don't recall twisting it again, the next thing to think about is overuse. Have you up the amount of time that you are running/cycling recently?
In summary: Diagnosis. Rest. Recovery and rehabilitation. The last bit means trying to work out what causes it - they may be weakness in the hips for example, so you may have to think of a specific strengthening programme.
Hope that helps and good luck.
Its not swollen or anything, i did a gentle bike ride today and it seemed ok, so hopefully fingers crossed, i'd just banged it sometime probably, with no lasting damage! was thinking of physio as i'm with BUPA anyway!
Cheers
