Presta valves

There is no difference on the valves so shouldnt be a problem. The only thing is to make sure that the pump head is pushed on properly, and then it should work!

    Is there a difference between presta valves on a MTB compared to a road bike?



    I have a Giant MTB which I can inflate the tyres without a problem. I’ve just got a Giant Defy 3 and when I tried to put some more air in the tyres the pump head keeps flying off as soon there is any real pressure behind it.



    What am I doing wrong? It should be so simple and I'm reasonably mechanically minded. Take off dust cap, unscrew lock-nut on presta valve, put pump head over valve, push down and flip up lever, inflate tyre.
