Olympic tri training help

I'm a pretty undisciplined sap really - I am aiming for an olympic tri this July and am generally running, swimming and cycling approx 2 x per week each (this is good). Am also training with a friend which helps but am tending to be doing what I feel like, not very scientific!.
Can anybody point me in the direction of a good beginner training plan (I have a fairly good base fit fitness from lots of windsurfing)? Theres a lot of stuff out there and I also have a copy of joe friels tri training bible which is pretty incomprehensible!! I don't want to get too tied up with beating myself up if I don't follow a plan but would like the reassurance of knowing i'm aiming in the right direction.
(I ahve also signed up for a sprint and longer mini tri in march and may)
Any help hugely appreciated!!!
