Need some advice sharpish!

My bike refuses to get into top gear (smallest cog on the back). It does when not under load, but when you're putting power down it just sits there making a bloody racket!

It doesn't even get into gear with the cable completely loosened. So its not the cable.

What else could it be?

Pls help!

I was going to say "try not gripping the levers in white knuckled panic". Now, get to bed! You need your beauty sleep. [:)]

Sounds like your high limit screw isn't set properly, if it will shift there with no load, it shouldnt need too much adjustment, (im sure this is all explain in the video) but you should back the screw off about a quarter turn, maybe another quarter more, but any more and you could end up with your chain flying off the cassettes. Hope this helps!
