cramp

I regularly start to get cramp in my toes after about 25 lengths of the pool(25 metre).I do swim through it but have to keep pulling my toes up towards my knees which makes swimming a bit difficult.

I'm training for open water swims and worry about this happening out there!!.Any advice, potions etc would be welcome.

Try pushing off the wall with less effort. After a recent swim session I had cramp in my tootsies and put it down to pushing harder off the wall as I was doing some timed 50m splits.

It was a first for me and since then I have been more gentle with my turning effort and lo and behold... no cramp.

I (sometimes) get cramp in my feet/toes when I am just doing lengths of breast stroke using arms only - and letting the legs just relax and dangle... At least, I think they are relaxed. Not sure if it just the water temperature, stress, or whatever.
