Inner tubes...repair or bin?

So having had my 1st official race day puncture i swaped the tubes over...now just repaired the puncture on the one i took out...however now thinking should i bother ever carrying it with me again?..tubes are only £5-£6 so is it worth carrying a repaired one around?...maybe for training runs only? what do people do?

i usually bin them, but I rarely seem to get nice neat little holes that are patchable!

possibly worth keeping one around maybe for the day you get back after two flats in the evening and you want to ride the next monring... probably depends on how many spares you usually have available in da house?

    Reduce, Repair, Recycle.

But not in your race machine. Stick 'em in your training wheels/turbo wheels. Then you can take pride in riding around on your own handy work. To be honest, a decent repair is as good as new - they rarely fail in the same place! Although the cost of a new tube is so relatively insignificant nowadays, that I could understand just buying new ones.
