I always stretch before/after both riding and running but never after swimming.
I normally just do a 200m warm up and then straight into it.
But i never do any kind of warm down or stretches afterwards, should I?
What do you do?
i do 300-400 warmup and then ideally a 200-300 warmdown in the pool. i vary my strokes more as well.
before a race i know i won't have a chance to do a proper warm up so i'll stretch back, shoulders, hamstrings etc on poolside.
I was recommended by my osteo to do backstroke to counter the front crawl muscle use and then a kneeling back stretch and a pecs stretch. I try to do these but don't always get round to it
I was told by a physio to stretch my calves after swimming because of the fact that my toes would be pointed for an hour. I never actually do, I hasten to add, I just dash off to work.
