I know it's not out and out tri, but worth a mention, especially as it takes the opposite stance to the "If you do sports you will die" spate we've had recently. In fact the article starts out with the death of Jim Fixx by heart attack, but reveals that he had a pretty unhealthy lifestyle beforehand which probably put him beyond salvation by the time he started.
Nevertheless, some interesting info on ultra-runners, Indian tribes and their spiritual connections with running.
