Any idea why I only ever get a stitch during a race and never during months of hard training?!

I eat two hours before a race (porridge normally) and I'm careful with fluid consumption before a race.

Tips on avoiding them during a race, and how to treat also?

It's literally becoming a pain!

    Dairy ALWAYS gives me a stitch if im doing endurance. Even if i give it a long time. If i got an event i never have dairy before it and i try to avoid it before training

    Oh also the cone headed one once mentioned something about getting a bit of protein in with all the carbs...like scrambled egg or something.
