My knees are killing me!

I competed in the Goodwood Duathlon yesterday and since finishing my knees have been in absolute agony. The pain has been intermittent since a bikeride a few weeks ago, which when I lowered my saddle seemed to alleviate.

It was my first competition that included a 40k cycle, so I guess it has something to do with that.

Anyone experienced this before or have any advice?

A lot depends on which part of your knees are hurting - not enough info.

First thing is to make sure your bike is properly set up. Find either a good cycling coach or a bike shop that specialises in such things. Be prepared to pay.

If bike set up doesn't work then see a physio. Muscle imbalance can easily cause knee problems. Often the cure can be quite simple. Be prepared to pay.

I thought if its knee pain on the bike then the saddle probably needs to move up, if its groin/hip pain then the saddle needs to move down.
    But I may be wrong.
  • I sympathise with you..I have a knee pain at the moment...not fun when would like to be out there running etc
Mine caused from running I think..
  • Fortunately the pain and stiffness subsided after a two days.
You guys are right though. I should probably go and get my bike fitted professionally.

    Thanks
