Pedalling for Pints

As the triathlon season is coming to an end (I have one race left!), I thought that i would do something pretty crazy and unusual to make up for some of the training that i have done over the season and the beer drinking missed.

Anyway after discussions with my flatmatem, I thought I may as well incorporate a end of season blow-out on alcohol with the fitness gains that i have made from the training. The final result was http://www.pedallingforpints.com/ a 1000 pub crawl (well ride) from John O' Groats to Lands End. On a tandem. Tasting the finest local ales and beers of the UK.

Myself and my fellow beer drinking and pedalling buddy are planning this epic journey from John O’Groats to Lands End from the 17th September to 2nd October to raise money for Wheels for Wellbeing, a charity who supports disabled people cycling in London. We are hoping to visit pubs and breweries along the way in search of the best beers that the famous route has to offer. We will be blogging along the way and updating readers on beers that we try and pubs and breweries that we visit. At the end of the journey we will be holding the Pedalling for Pints beer awards!

By the way, I in no way advocate drink cycling (thats why we have a tandem!)

We would be very grateful for sponsorship too.

    Looks like an excellent trip.

I did John O'Groats to Lands End last year on my own, in 8 days, and thoroughly enjoyed (nearly) every minute.

To have done it on a tandem with a good mate, over a slightly longer period, dropping into a few pubs on the way sounds ideal.

    You'll have a great time.

And don't worry about all that 'prevailing wind' bollocks. It'll blow whichever way it blows. I had tail winds for 5 of the 8 days!

    Good luck chaps.
