Bike maintanance question

Could I ask for some help please,

I recently brought some new tyres for my road bike and I have now fitted them, and I went out for my first ride on them over the weekend. However, I am now unable to change gear into gear 1 (the biggest cog at the back) and when in gear 2, it jumps/slips every few turns.

Have I done something wrong when re-fitting the rear wheel, or is there something that I need to do?

Can anyone help please? No technical jargon please!

If you take out (or loosen a lot) the skewer in the rear wheel. Can you see if the wheel is siting in the drop outs evenly on both sides?

When you took the rear wheel off what cog was it on? It could just simply be that when you refitted the wheel you put the chain on the wrong cog. Shift down as far as you can and manually put the chain on the largest cog, see if that helps. An alternative could be that you may have bent the rear derailleur.
