Shorts for long Distance

Can anyone reccomend a good pair of mens shorts for Iron distance races. Don't want to spend too much and def want shorts and not a suit. Not bothered about pockets either. I have considered the 2XU comp shorts but only because they are the only shorts on Wiggle that have a customer review from someone who has ridden them in ironman. Please help I'm suffering at the moment with budget bike shorts, Aldi cycling undies and as much vaseline as I can get hold of!

    I find Specialized kit is really comfy and I can happily sit on the bike 5hrs plus in them:)

    If money is no object go for ASSOS..... very expensive but you will not get a better pair of shorts!!! Thats what I think anyway:)
