"Dual use pavement and cycle lanes are impractical because you have to give way at each junction with a side road, they're not designed for travelling at any kind of speed above about 10mph, pedestrians stray into them because they just don't look, and they get filled with detritus because they don't get used very much."

And they also perpetuate the perception amongst certain card drivers that cyclists should NOT be on ther road as they can cycle on the PAVEMENT (even when NOT a dual use). they also perpetuate the perception amongst some cyclists that similarly they may cycle on the pavement (as opposed to dual use) or that some cyclists never ride in the roadway because they haven;t ever developed the road skills to do so - becasue they spend all their time on dial use and pavement!

[code:qe88yyn3]Oh and trust me they whizz close past horses too only its easier to scrape down the roof with a stirrup than a pedal![/code:qe88yyn3]

personally prefer the hard end of the whip on the car roof that sorts them out or said horse on 2 legs looking like their coming through the window

though have had more issues with cyclists than cars - if they speak horses fine if they don't melt down
