70.3 Galway Ireland

Hi all. I've just read in one of the papers that a new 70.3 ironman event will take place on the west coast of Ireland in Galway on 4/9/2011. Check out ironmanireland.com. It's a lovely part of the country....weather permitting! Also 50 world champs slots on offer.

    would be a lovely cycle.....wow, I hope it's just one loop so it will take in more north Galway, along the coast would be great.....
    Nut sure about the Galway bay swim though, sheesh, that could be a little wild in September....

    Run in "downtown" Galway might not be that nice....... but the m dot finish line in eyre square would be fantastic!

    only 35 Clearwater slots though! (not 50)

    when will Ireland get a full IM? Maybe never, it's tool small....Galway would have been perfect though.

    Great town for a pint afterwards if you had the energy or legs.... Even her indoors would be happy with a weekend in Galway... She's never happy about tri for some reason!

    Almost full for individual entries so if you want a great weekend`s "craic agus ceol" get in there quick.
