Handlebars on TT bike

I just read Conehead's book - great read for me on the beach in Croatia last week.
Now that I'm back to rain it's time to think seriously about next year. (HIMs this time)
I saw that Conehead bought a Trek TT bike and put some std. road handlebars on it (with drops etc..) - this soulds like a nice idea for events with lots of hills and training.
Anyone else have an opinion on this? I gonna geta carbon TT bike around Christmas, or sooner if I can get a deal on 2009 kit.
Conehead, you also mentioned another setup for the bike which you later when for, how was that??
