Knee Pain

Recently started trying to ride with more of a spin style as opposed to stamping down, all good you might think! However as the subject suggests i have now got pain in my knee on the outside above and right(or left) of the knee cap. Think it's the ITB but not sure.

Any thoughts what would be causing it?

    Cleat position on your shoes.

    Hmm i have got some shimano self aligning cleats (the yellow ones) do i need to have ones with reduced float do you reckon?
