Pairing a Garmin Footpod

Hi everyone,

I bought a Garmin Forerunner 305 a few months back and managed to pair it with both the HRM and a cadence sensor. On the back of this I thought I'd get the Garmin Footpod but my god, and it's driving me nuts by the way, I cannot get the two damn things to pair.

Convinced it was faulty I've sent it back, only for it to be returned a week later, and so now I think I must be doing something wrong. I've tried scanning for the footpod outdoors and indoors. I've tried scanning for the footpod whilst shaking it and whilst walking around with it on my shoe. I've taken the battery out about 50 times to reset the unit, but still no joy.

Has anyone had a similar problem or know of a way to ensure they pair?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Have you tried changing the battery? When mine arrived the battery was flat. I think a lot of people have this problem. Garmin ship it with the battery in place, it's motion activated and the battery lasts 200 hours, less time than it spent being shook in a container on its way from china.
