Heart rate monitors on a budget (as normal)

I'm looking to pick up my first heart rate monitor and as normal I'm skint.

So I've seen this one on wiggle what do you think, or do you have any other ideas.

Cheers everyone.

Have you had a look on eBay in case someone is selling a Garmin Forerunner or similar? At least you can also use it on the bike if you acquire a cadence sensor. Might be worth saving a few more sheckles and getting something that does more, rather than having to buy another gadget a few months down the road. Oh, hang on, this is Triathlon - you won't have any gadgets to look forward to buying if you get the right HR monitor now...

I've just picked up one of these, is it ok? My theory is that I start with a cheap one and then I get on with it I then get to buy another more expensive one.

What I relly want to know is, is this a waste of money or should I spend more now?
  • I only paid £38 it ws on offer at wiggle, and had a pack of haribo.

I'm a triathlete wasting money is my second sport.

Tescos own brand one. Think it is about £20 or less even. Highly recommended much as I hate supporting the supermarket giants
