Planet X 101/80 deep rim carbon wheels

I bought some of these after Christmas, finally got round to buying some tubs and actually having a go with them.

I rode them on a flat ride on a fairly windy day.

Overall they were quick. My average mph was about 1.5 - 2mph quicker over the whole ride. They felt quicker (obviously the most important thing )

With the wind behind me I was absolutely flying. Coming back (I did an out and back route) into the wind it was hard work. Both of these could just have been the wind obviously.

They handled OK. A few times with a side wind I could feel the wind on the front wheel, but it was never so bad as to be a problem.

So far, so good!

I was just using whatever came with the bike. It's a Trek 1.5 so bog standard Bontrager wheels.

I agree Jules, these wheels are superb.

Been using this combo on my TT bike for a few years now and apart from a little flex when you're really stamping on the pedals up a climb, I've got no complaints. Ive used them on fairly windy days on exposed courses and they handle fine.

I rode mine on Sunday at Oulton Park. They went very well. I didn't though!
