£27 Bassetlaw Sprint Triathlon 4th August Worksop

Nottinghamshire's newest triathlon opened for entries yesterday evening.

Based at Worksop Leisure Center S81 7EN, it's a pool sprint format 400m - 21k - 5k.

Intended as a novice – friendly event and we expect over half the field to be first timers or in their first year.
The bike route is marshalled and signed, it is mainly rural on good roads, with approximately 120m of height gain / loss; the 5k run is pavement all the way, two lap format and has a total of about 30m height gain / loss.

Further information including course maps is at www.bassetlawtriathlon.co.uk where you can also enter.

With chip timing for all and entries from just £27, plus £3 for non-BTF members to cover your race day license, this has to be one of the best value races around. Unlike most other events, we’re not adding anything on to the day license; all competitors will also get a tee shirt and a goody bag.

There’s free parking for spectators and competitors, trade stands and food and drink stalls. Massage tent, medical cover, PA system, secure transition…

There will also be a novice training day on the 13th July TBC for an additional £5 which will provide some swim and bike technique, race day info, transition practice and a guided ride and run.

This is our first ever event as a club; we hope it’s reasonably priced but will deliver a great experience.
We regret that the event is for those aged 18 and over on race day only; if you have special mobility needs, please contact us via the website.

    Gavin - excellent

This is brilliant news for first timers as is the Novice training day, good luck with it. May be able to offer services as volunteer but will know nearer the day. Have you posted this event 'elsewhere'?
