Open Water Training swims

Hi,
This is my first post to the forum.
I'm a member of the fairly new Andover Triathlon Club (in north Hampshire), and we're looking to find somewhere where we can have club open water swimming training.
We've been offered facilities by Southampton Tri club, but swimming near a refinery is making some of us a little uneasy. Other suggestions were the lakes near the M25, but these are only available from 6am to 9am, which none of us wanted to get out of bed for (we don't sound very keen, do we?).
Does anyone know of any nearer lakes that we could use, preferably mid-afternoon at a weekend?
