Has anyone got any opinions on whether sherborne would be best done on a normal road bike or a Tri bike given the course profile

Sherbourne bike is nasty- surfaces are good though. We did an oly there for inter-services this year and lots of our guys were on they're v expensive, pretty tri-bikes.
