Secret to Success

As a coach and mildly successful rower, I want to blow open the secret to success...

1. do loads of miles in the winter

2. make sure your winter miles are as technically excellent as possible

3. start intervals/bricks 12 -10 weeks before your premier goal

Apart from this get a good nutrition plan, get good kit and keep atching this forum as I post my new 3/4 training programme which might be the way to success!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Treefrog thanks for all your tips and advice. I have been reading about the turbo sessions and IM70.3 training ideas. Any tips as to where I can find a good nutrition plan for an IM70.3 that’s not to expensive? Also any clues as to where your ¾ training programme may be….? Cheers

    Hey treefrag(an everyone else),

dare I add consistancy as a key to success??

and also rest exactly when needed (which can be a puzzle sometimes).

looking forward to the 3/4 prog.

The 3/4 programme is : Do 3/4 of your race distance what ever discipline at 100% effort, on alternate days with active recovery in between and then the next week do full race distances at 3/4 effort. Make the 3rd week an active recovery week - long slow distance but do short intervals. Always follow your nutrition plan during it and get the timing right as in 10 -12 weeks before your priority event
