tyre puncture advice

I am a newcomer to triathlon and did my first duathlon with my first racer for 20 years last Sunday. I got a puncture whena small sharp stone went through my tyre. It left a small 3-4 mm hole. My question is do I have to get a new tyre or can I continue to race with the old one

    AS long as the tube doesn't start to deform and push through the hole when inflated then you can repair the tube and continue to use the tyre, just make sure that you have removed anything sharp from the inside if the tyre; i've been caught out like this before. Lots of people are now just dumping the tube and buying another one, but they are easy to repair.

    Planet X had 5 tubes for a fiver i think!
