what tyres do i need

Hi all,

I am looking for advice on tyres. what do you recomend i use on my road bike slics or all weather. Or do i just get both?

Its not an easy thing to advise on.
Weather conditions and road types change. I use a tyre with dimond shaped tread on which works for me as my rides take over many different surfaces and when the roads are wet those drain covers a slippy!

I go for a winter set and summer set

Winter cheap and tough, Vittora, bout £12 a a pop. Low on punctures and relatively high rolling resistance but good grip.

Summer and racing Continental GP 4000s £35 each. Usually about 4kmph faster than winter tyres

Lookin at the same thing myself - just wondering how much difference different tires make to the average joe over the course of a race?
