Wetsuit Buoyancy

Hi,

I'm a relative newcomer to this fantastic sport. I did a sprint tri last summer, and this year i've signed up for more and a couple of duathlons.

I recently bought a wetsuit, but i'm worried about the buoyancy of it. It's an Aquasphere suit with TLN construction, however it's only 1mm thick.

I think this will be fine when it comes to keeping me warm enough, but will it give me enough buoyancy?

Thanks,

TRIrish

There is only one way to find out, most swimming pools if asked first tend to allow you to practice in a wet suit.Body buoyancy depends on various factors,a person with more body fat is more buoyant than a muscular one, your swimming style may be cramped due to the tightness of the suit etc .

    Thanks jon.E.

I might have to go when nobody else is around. I might get some strange looks otherwise!

    Hey Trirish,

you're a triathlete, so you should be used to strange looks.

Maybe those looks will change when you fly by them in your suit[image]http://forum.220magazine.com/micons/m8.gif[/image]!!!
