Diet - what I ate today!

jazdogjazdog Posts: 223
Hi folks... This is going to be my food diary as I'm not eating as well as I should [:)]and thought maybe by putting it all down in a post I'd be a bit more careful... plus thought it'd be interesting to see what everyone else puts in their bods after all the hard training we're puttng in..

Yesterday -

brekkie - 2 weetabix and a slice of toast

lunch - steak, 2 rashers of bacon and two fried eggs (not healthy) and a slice of wholemeal bread

dinner - spinach and ricotta canneloni in a cheese sauce with chippy chips (not healthy) - ice cream and banana for pudding

snacks- 4 ginger snaps, 1 cinnamon and raisin bagel, 2 apples and an orange

How does this compare to everyone else out there? I'm trying hard to lose a few extra pounds (I'm 6'1 and 13st1) but feel I can't eat enough to recover for the next training session - any advice would be helpful! Jaz

Jaz I'll join you with the food diary.

I am near enough 6' and now weigh 76Kg, i have lost 3.5Kg since Jan, mainly through the annual ramp up in training.

This morning: a small bowl of mixed museli type cereal, with yoghurt and rhubarb, and a cup ot tea.

after my morning swim i have had two more cups of tea and 5 hot cross buns to mke up for the energy expenditure.

Jazdog - I have the same problem - always want to snack on something, take a look at food low on the glycaemic index to keep you full for longer. http://www.herbalvitality.info/aw/glycemic_index.htm

Yesterday my diet was as follows....

AM - Large bowl of porrige with milk/water, honey and pumpkin seeds

    SNACK - 2 bananas

LUNCH - Mix of bulgur wheat and a chick pea salad

PM - Tofu, grilled mushrooms and rocket in a wrap x 2

SNACK - Piece of wholemeal bread with cottage cheese

    So far today....

AM - Porrige with milk/water and honey

SNACK - Dried apricots - and I'm just about to dig into a bag of mixed nuts....

Good idea this, might make me think a bit more!

    Today:

All Bran and Oat Bar (just can't eat in the morning!)

Lunch - Prawn sandwich on wholemeal and a PJ Smoothie

Dinner - Stir fried pork with veg and noodles

Snacks - couple of pieces of honeycomb (just looooooooove it!!)

Drinks - couple of litres water, 2 cups percolated coffee, 1 glass of white wine (but the night is yet young and crappy day at work so that might go up!)

This thread is a great idea. I have an absolutely awful diet which probably does nothing to help with the sports I do (eg. pizza, coca-cola, chips, wine.) Basically my diet doesn't feature fruit and veg. I am quite fortunate that I am a small build and not overweight but this is no excuse for the rubbish I eat.

It's good to see what other people eat to get some ideas. I am trying to bit healthier. Last night instead of the chip shop after training I had pasta. I think it's a case of thinking of more healthy things to have as alternatives.

    Yesterday:

Breakfast - none (don't have breakfast usually)

    Snack - cereal bar

Lunch - cheese & tomato roll, couple of mini cheese & onion pasty rolls, carrot cake

Dinner - tomato & basil pasta, packet of crisps, couple of glasses of wine
