Novice wetsuits

I want to start triathlons and was looking at what wetsuit to buy without breaking the bank. Swim Bike Run have some of last years models for approx £130, are hese OK for starting?

Without even knowing what suits they are, my answer is 'Yes, they are fine for starting out'.

Of course, I'm assuming here that they are not last year's budget models being bunged out at high prices. Hopefully they are almost mid-range going cheap... are they ex-hire or new? Give us some model numbers and I'm sure some of the more experienced rubber-fetish gimps on the forum can comment. [;)]

I think you can buy an entry level Orca S2 for £99, so this is a useful benchmark to bear in mind.

Yes they are good enough to start out with. I started by hiring one but ended up keeping it with total cost being £125 - two seasons later it's still going strong. Can recommend the Foor Quantum as being nice fit and flexible around arms - it got a good write-up in last 220 reveiw plus the 08 model has some go fast red stripes on it!! Do try and get to a shop though and try them on is the best bet, then spend as much as you can afford.

If you've narrowed it down to those, then get the one that fits you the best !!

Sizing is also good fun. There was I thinking that I am 5' 7" and weigh 70 Kgs - wrong - according to Orca I am actually 6' 6" and weigh 85 Kgs Be prepared to return to the supplier at about £5 a time unless you have a local retailer.

I can feel a whole new thread coming on...the 'I thought I was.....but Orca/aquasphere/blue seventy etc say I am.......' Prize for the largest discrepancy?
