105 shifters - what will they shift?

I currently have a triple chainset, 9 speed rear and 105 shifters. I am switching to a double chainset. Can anyone confirm whether the shifter for the front will work for a double as well as a triple? I presume it will as there don't appear to be options advertised. I've never bought shifters before - and if I can avoid don't want to for this bike which is going to be replaced next year.

    The answer to that is yes it will but youl need to tweak your front mech so that the chain doesn't come off

    Thanks v.much. Presumably, that will be a 'trial and error' type 'tweak'?
