Swimming training question - what does 'on' mean?

Simple one guys - what does the 'on' mean in the training below?

Does is mean 40secs for each length (i.e. 25metres)?

w-up 200mtrs / 1x300 on 40sec / 3x200 on 30sec / 1x300 on 40sec / c-dn 200mtrs

Thanks :)

PS I can now swim a couple of lengths - swimming coming on slowly but surely!!!!

it means you get to rest! do your warm up, wait 40 sec, then do the 330 m. then wait 30 sec and do 200, wait 30 sec do 200 m, wait 30 sec do 200 m etc...

    good luck with the training!

In his case it means "after" so you go for 300M after 30 seconds rest. I other programmes eg 10L on/ 8L off the "on" means fast or flat out
